The Colorado House of Representatives is comprised of 65 Representatives. Representatives are elected every two years from the district in which they live, and they are limited to serving eight consecutive years. Each Representative District consists of approximately 88,800 citizens. The Speaker of the House is elected by the full membership of the House. The General Assembly convenes each year no later than the second Wednesday in January and adjourns in May. Constitutionally legislative sessions may not exceed 120 calendar days.
